Seattle RV rentals, sized for the ferry and the campground
There are 473 RVs for rent within 50 miles of Seattle, held by 376 separate hosts, at a median $199.95 a night. Which one suits you is decided less by class than by two numbers: how long it is, which sets the campgrounds that will admit it, and how tall it is, which sets what the ferry charges.

- $255.70
- round trip that height decides, to Friday Harbor
472 of 473 listings publish a length. 33 publish a height. So the dimension the ferry actually prices on is missing from 440 listings, 93% of the market, and the gap is worth up to $255.70 on a round trip to Friday Harbor.
The cheapest class is the worst fitting one
Travel trailers are 193 of 473 listings at $126.00 a day, and 20% of them clear Mount Rainier's White River campground. A Class B at $273.00 clears it 100% of the time.

Where it can go
- Olympic National Park
Filter by length before you filter by price or class. The median Seattle rental does not fit the standard Olympic site, so an unfiltered search puts you in the 53% competing for scarce oversize sites.
- Mount Rainier National Park
Plan a Mount Rainier trip around your tanks and locate a dump station outside the park before you arrive. Do not assume you can empty on site.
- San Juan Islands
Price the crossing before the rental on any San Juans trip, and stay longer to amortise it. A two-night San Juans trip spends more on the ferry than on the vehicle.
- Whidbey Island
If the goal is an island night rather than the San Juans specifically, take Whidbey. The saving funds two extra nights of the median rental.
- North Cascades
Take the longest rental here, not to the islands. This is the only destination in the set with no ferry and no published length cap, so neither the 7'2" height band nor a campsite limit rules anything out. Confirm the site with the park anyway, because silent is not the same as unlimited.
What the crossing costs
Seven crossings carry RVs out of the Seattle area, and every one of them roughly doubles the fare for a vehicle under 30 feet once it passes 7 feet 2 inches tall. See the full fare table by route.
Listing figures measured September 5, 2026 across 473 live listings. Ferry fares measured the same day from the published fare pages. Both change, and this page does not update itself. We are a finder: booking, insurance and any delivery are arranged with the host through the marketplace.
