One thing Washington State Ferries does not publish

The fare page lists both a fare for a standard vehicle under 22 feet and a fare for a vehicle under 30 feet over 7 feet 2 inches. It does not state which one applies to a vehicle that is under 22 feet and also over 7 feet 2 inches, which describes many camper vans. We are not going to guess it. Check your own route and date on the Washington State Ferries fare page before you travel.

What to do before you book

Use Bremerton only when it lands you closer to where you are going. On fare alone it is the worst of the three, because the price is the same and the sailing is twice as long.

An extra 30 minutes each way against Edmonds to Kingston, for the same $79 fare and no fare saving to show for it.
